Holi hai... Bura na mano holi hai... These words echoed in my heart as I was going through my old album of beautiful childhood photographs.... Memories of laughter, gaiety, fun, cheer, love, peace, joy painted the canvas of my soul with myriad vibrant colors.. I could feel the beyond words taste of Murthy aunty's idli Sambhar, Jain aunty's besan laddoo, Singh aunty's mattar ki kachori, Gupta aunty's gujhiya, Agrawal aunty's dahi bada and ofcourse mumma's Mathri with achaar... The faces in the picture, with dishevelled hair, gulaal and wet color all over, appearing as if they were color pallettes of a child... looked so happy, faaaaaaar more beautiful than with make up on..
Placing the memory carelessly in my mind and the album carefully in the almirah, I walked towards my table to pick up my mobile ringing..
The voice on the other side, of my friend... told me something and my reaction was "no, worries dear." She was totally taken aback... "Whatttt... Are you serious Manisha... Where is your usual response... Yaar, I can't take this anymore.. Why are people so ridiculous.. Why is life so unfair... This is too much.." I laughed at the way she was imitating my voice, my words and my feelings too... With peace in my voice and heart.. I told her.. Happy Holi dear.. Life and people are throwing crazy colors at you everyday.. Colors of love, anger hope, despair, cheer, sadness, competition, challenge, support, misunderstanding, empathy helplessness, feeling worthy, care, concern etc etc... The list is endless.. I enjoy drenching my self in the same now, for I know how to take bath and be ready for the next day.. As the life says " बुरा ना मानो होली है" 🥰🥰🥰🥰
